About VisitLock

For the people who show up.

VisitLock exists because a 78-year-old woman in Tampa was billed for visits she never received. The aide of record was on the books. The signature was on the timesheet. The state didn't catch it for fourteen months. By then her son was already paying for the funeral.

We started building this in a kitchen — the one in the photograph — with the woman's daughter telling us what she wished her mother's agency had had. Every choice in this product traces back to that conversation.

What we believe

Trust isn't a feature. It's the whole point.

Most home-health technology is built for the office, not the porch. The dashboards look great in a sales meeting. They don't tell you whether anyone actually showed up.

VisitLock is the opposite. We started at the visit and worked outward. The aide app comes first. The biometric never leaves the phone. The visit token is signed, sealed, and submitted before the office ever sees it.

We've spent twenty years collectively in home health, EVV systems, and biometric architecture. We've done the audits. We've sat through the depositions. We've watched good agencies get destroyed by one bad signature page.

This product is the version of that infrastructure we wish had existed then.

The team

We're 11 people split between Tampa and Houston. Most of us came from EVV-adjacent companies. Most of us have a parent or grandparent who needed home care. None of us are in this for the slide deck.

Kara Mendez & Ben Adesina

Kara ran operations at a 200-aide PCS network in Florida for nine years. Ben led the biometric platform team at a major identity-verification vendor before getting tired of building products his own grandmother couldn't use. They started VisitLock in 2024.
